The diving around Pulau Sibu is superb with wide ranging fields of soft corals that make a kaleidoscope of colours, countless types of hard corals and an astounding variety of marine life. The visibility can vary from 25m to 3m, averaging out at around 10m. Unfortunately there seems to be very little rhyme or reason nowadays as to when the visibility will be good or bad as our weather patterns have changed and we can't quite figure it all out! The topography of the region is made from volcanic activity and is relatively shallow, up to 18m, due to the island's proximity to the mainland. This shallowness is what causes the visibility to decrease as any water turbulence can reach the silt..

TRY SCUBA - RM 140

Course includes:

Brief theory lesson covering equipment and basic safety rules
1 dive in controlled conditions
Certificate

Aim:

To see if you like diving, otherwise you can go back to the bar!

Duration:

Approximately 2 hours 30 minutes

Note: If you do wish to proceed with an Open Water Course the cost of the Try Scuba is deducted from the price!

Duration:

4 days

Notes:

4 full days required, i.e you must arrive on the morning of day 1 and depart in the late afternoon of day 4.
Courses may be completed in more than one trip over a 3 month period if the student prefers.
We recommend that would be divers purchase an Open Water Dive Manual to read in advance of arriving for their course. It makes the course much easier and more enjoyable and the Manual is something all divers should keep to refer to in the future. The SSI OW Manual & Dan's Nasty Log Book costs RM90 including postage.
